My name is Megan Zumwinkel Taylor -- or MZT for short. I specialize in solving problems for swamped business owners.
We all have superpowers. Nothing as flashy as flight or invisibility, of course, but they're there, under the surface, in each and every one of us. We all have something that we do better than anyone else; call it a talent, or a passion, or a gift if you like, but I prefer superpower.
My superpower is the ability to enhance other superpowers.
In a vacuum, of course, that's a pretty lame power, but lucky for us you have a superpower that I can enhance to make you better and more effective at what you do.
Over the last few years, I've worked with (and in) a bunch of different industries, including retail, food service, theatre, customer service, and finance. I've learned dozens of interesting things along the way (like welding!), discovered a passion for organizing and spreadsheets, and reaffirmed my desire to know something about everything.
What this means for you is that I have a broad base of knowledge from which to draw, and a fresh, multi-faceted perspective that I can use to help you solve problems and create solutions. And, when it comes right down to it, my very favorite people to help are small business owners. You all have the most interesting problems to solve. So, I've determined the very best way for me to make use of my specific superpower is...
drumroll please...
As a Virtual Assistant working online. Funny thing, though — "VA" doesn't really do it for me. I can't help it; my standard is set a lot higher that that, so I decided on a job title that made my goals for my clients really clear: Chief Problem-Solving Officer — I help you keep your business running smoothly and make sure you don't let things fall through the cracks. ;-)
Since beginning this work, I've provided VA-style services to a dressmaker and seamstress, a Rolfing® instructor and woodworker, a potty-mouthed marketing maven, a head-in-the-clouds idea catalyst, a sales guru and podcaster, and many others. I'd love the chance to help you, too.
Curious to know more about what I do? Read on!
I organize like a maniac.
I do what needs to be done, and I eat deadlines for breakfast.
Research and learning curves are my favorite pastime.
I solve problems and put together puzzles. I love seeing projects through to the very end, and I'm not daunted by confusing tangles — I untangle them. (Some of my clients call me their "extra brain" in addition to their "extra set of hands".)
I am known for my boundless enthusiasm, and I love being the motivating force behind a successful project. Skill by itself isn't the thing that makes a great assistant. It's enthusiasm for conquering obstacles and successfully shipping the project at hand that makes the difference between a frustrating new hire and a helper who's worth the time you paid for. And even better than that, a helper who turns out to be the key to a beautiful finished product — launched on time. (That's me!)
I don't have all the answers (who does?), but I have the interest, inclination, wherewithal (read: Google-fu) to figure out most problems. My clients know that I'm quick on the uptake, and many tell me that's their favorite aspect of working with me. In the meantime, you can trust that I'll help you if I can (and let you know honestly when I can't).
The sky's the limit!
If you can think of something you might need or want me to do that isn't listed above, don't hesitate to run it by me. I'm always open to new challenges and learning new skills, and you'll find me pretty enthusiastic on the whole.
Need more proof? I have testimonials. (Of course!)

Boulder, COMegan's services as a VA have been extremely valuable. As a very small business person myself, my To Do list seems interminable. She has taken many of those To Dos which would have taken me hours and done them in a very short time. This has allowed me to have much more balance in my life to pursue other interests outside of my business. Her work has allowed me to focus on what I do best. Working with her is like having a full-time assistant without the expense.
Instead of calling tech support, I call Megan, because she is very patient in explaining and guiding me through computer issues. If she doesn't know how to do something, she has many resources to figure it out.
She has a keen balance of creativity and pragmatism, a quick and very curious mind. Her writing and editing skills have been extremely valuable. An example of her creativity and can-do attitude is when I needed a print ad produced in 2 days for a local dance concert program. I had many comments from friends that it was the best of all of the 45 ads in the program. I never would have been able to pull that off without her. And... she is fun to work with!

Austin, TXMZT wormed her way into my heart when I discovered her dark secret: She's not human. In fact, I'm almost completely convinced that she has to be some kind of crazy mutant alien SUPER assistant. If it turned out that she'd crash landed on this planet in a hollow asteroid, I would not the teeniest bit surprised. She is absolutely brilliant, and after only a few months she's made herself indispensable to my business.
If you've ever searched for the perfect virtual assistant, you know that it's a grail quest of impossible proportions. I got lucky, and found MZT. She climbs learning curves easily (and enjoys them!), takes initiative on new projects without having every tiny thing spelled out for her (Godsend!), and constantly asks questions and makes suggestions that improve the way my business is running. She is definitely my extra brain, undoubtedly a step or three above the rest.
My opinion? You'd be crazy to pass up the opportunity to work with her.

Denver, COMegan has been a life-saver for me. I hate dealing with the visual aspects of web design: making a nice layout, figuring out headers, and finding images for my site. Megan has done all of the design and image work for all of my websites, changing them from ugly-blocks-of-text into beautiful and professional-looking sites with visual interest. The best part was that I just told her to make it look good -- she didn't need detailed instructions (which I couldn't have given anyway), she just made it look good.
